Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in recreation related field preferred.
• Experience: Psychiatric health care facility experience preferred.
• CPR certification and CPI within 30 days.
• May be required to work flexible hours, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Provides activity groups.
• Documents the patient's response to groups in daily/weekly progress notes.
• Provides and documents alternative interventions when patients miss groups.
• Delivers groups per protocol set by the Activity Therapist and collaborates with the patient to maximize benefit.
• Maintains communication with the Activity Therapist when patients do not respond to treatments.
• Adapts activities to patient needs and developmental levels; offers varied stimuli as per treatment plan.
• Contributes to maintaining a quality program aligned with therapeutic objectives.
• Participates in treatment planning with nursing and program staff under supervision.
