Job summary

Passaic County Community College is seeking a part-time Men’s Volleyball Assistant Coach who will support the Head Coach in practices, contests, travel, recruiting, and eligibility compliance. The role emphasizes high ethical standards while representing the college in NJCAA-affiliated activities.

Responsibilities include recruiting, coordinating campus visits, organizing conditioning, travel logistics, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Volleyball coaching/playing experience with proven record.
• Prior coaching at high school or 2–4-year college level highly desired.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Ability to recruit student-athletes within and beyond Passaic County.
• Understand and apply sport compliance rules; NJCAA rules knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend required functions and meetings deemed by the Athletic Director.
• Effectively recruit talented student-athletes in Passaic County, NJ and surrounding areas.
• Coordinate campus visits and tours with College Administrators on behalf of new recruits.
• Represent sports program at college functions and civic engagements.
• Obtain updated and valid physical records of student-athletes prior to volleyball program participation.
• Help create or revise a volleyball program handbook outlining plans and objectives.
• Organize and administer daily conditioning and sport-specific training.
• Transport student-athletes to off-campus games and functions in the college van.
• Oversee student-athlete behavior, conduct and academic eligibility.
• Responsible for purchasing, inventory, disbursement and return of all equipment assigned to student-athletes.
• Help establish relations with volleyball organizations and schools.
• Review and apply NJCAA rules and GSAC bylaws.
• Ensure compliance of all regulations for the program.
• Upload team roster, stats, scores on Region XIX and NJCAA sites.
• Coordinate travel, meals and team meetings as needed.
• Schedule team practices and off-season workouts.
• Organize community service and fundraising for the team.
• Serve as a positive role model on committees related to student affairs.
