Job summary

Bandit Running, a pioneering technical performance brand, is seeking a Men’s Performance & Lifestyle Designer to shape hybrid apparel for running and outdoor contexts. Based in our Greenpoint, Brooklyn headquarters, you will translate culture into design language and craft precise tech packs and 3D renderings.

You’ll collaborate with the Chief Design Officer and cross-functional teams, building line architecture and guiding samples through development.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years in apparel design, activewear or performance lifestyle.
• Strong construction, performance textiles, and functional detailing.
• Experience designing hybrid apparel for movement and everyday wear.
• Excellent sketching and Adobe Illustrator skills.
• Experience building tech packs and guiding samples through development.
• Strong eye for proportion, color and material storytelling.
• Personal connection to trail running or outdoor culture is a plus.
• In-office role based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

• Translate cues into design language with texture, proportion, and material.
• Create sketches, 3D renderings, and full tech packs communicating silhouette and finish.
• Partner with the Chief Design Officer to evolve concept direction.
• Build understanding of performance and outdoor markets to identify opportunities.
• Source materials and finishes balancing technical performance with aesthetics.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Tech Design, and Sourcing through prototypes and fittings.

We’re expanding the team and seeking a Men’s Performance & Lifestyle Designer as. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for technical apparel and a deep appreciation for the craft of design.

Design & Creative Development

• Translate cultural, architectural, and environmental cues into design language—where texture, proportion, and material express both story and purpose.
• Create detailed sketches, 3D/digital renderings, and full tech packs that communicate silhouette, construction, and finish with precision.
• Partner with the Chief Design Officer to evolve concept direction, ensuring each piece aligns with Bandit’s broader design language.
  

Product Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Build a deep understanding of both the performance and outdoor markets—identifying opportunities where trail tech meets urban sensibility.
• Source and apply advanced materials, trims, and finishes that balance technical performance with refined aesthetic.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Tech Design, and Sourcing through prototype rounds, fittings, and production.
• Contribute to seasonal line architecture and internal/wholesale presentations, ensuring design intent carries through every stage.

What We're Looking For

• 4–6+ years of experience in apparel design, ideally within activewear, outdoor, or performance lifestyle categories.
• Strong grasp of construction, performance textiles, and functional detailing.
• Proven experience designing hybrid apparel—built for movement, refined for everyday wear.
• Exceptional technical and hand sketching skills; expert in Adobe Illustrator and digital design tools.
• Detail-oriented and fluent in building tech packs, BOMs, and guiding samples through development cycles.
• Elevated design sensibility with a strong eye for proportion, color, and material storytelling.
• Personal connection to trail running, outdoor sport, or exploration culture is a major plus.
• Passionate about shaping the evolution of running—where performance, culture, and style converge.

• This is a full-time, in-office role based in our Greenpoint, Brooklyn headquarters
