Job description

Memory Support Education Coordinator

Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is seeking a self-directed individual passionate about education and memory care to join our team. As the Memory Support Education Coordinator, you will serve as the organization’s memory care educator and evaluator of direct care techniques used across the continuum of care.

This is a full-time, day shift position with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying memory care educational needs of team members across all service lines.
  • Developing educational presentations.
  • Serving as the memory care educator for team members across all service lines.
  • Providing hands-on coaching to improve quality of life for residents with neurocognitive disorders.
  • Reviewing programs and offering recommendations, training, and resources to enhance practices.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Memory Support and leadership to improve resident quality of life.
  • Working with administrators to meet memory care training requirements and understanding regulatory standards.
  • Using online platforms to enroll and track team member training attendance.
  • Communicating regularly with leadership about training progress.
  • Setting up and tearing down the Lifespring Community Resource Center and coordinating refreshments.
  • Creating a catalog to communicate training opportunities.
  • Arranging expert educators for specialized training.
  • Co-facilitating support groups and Memory Cafes, with independent facilitation in the absence of the Director.
  • Managing campus-wide Music & Memory programs and other brain health initiatives.
  • Developing and facilitating programs like Inner Light Academy and Discovery Courses.
  • Fostering collaboration with the leadership team to make Cross Keys Village a Dementia Friendly Campus.
  • Implementing new training and programs to support individuals with neurocognitive disorders and their care partners.
  • Introducing new ideas for training, topics, and community engagement.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, gerontology, psychology, public health, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Therapeutic Recreation experience is helpful.
  • Nurse Aide certification preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in senior care services.
  • Credentialed as a Certified Dementia Practitioner or similar memory support expert.
  • Experience in education is required.
  • Proficiency with relevant technology.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and achieve consensus.
