Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corp. is seeking a Memory Server System Testing Intern for a 2027 summer internship in San Jose, CA. You must not have graduated before September 2027.

Key duties include assisting in system level testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and using lab equipment to verify performance. Strong Python/C++ skills and familiarity with Windows/Linux are required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of digital and analog circuits, semiconductor devices, and computer architecture.
• Familiarity with Windows/Linux and memory test applications for system memory testing and validation.
• Experience with lab equipment for silicon validation and measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist in system level testing, duplication, verification and troubleshooting RMA issues (DIMM modules, DDR, I2C/I3C Hub, sensors).
• Collaborate with FAE, Test, Product, QA, DE, Marketing to understand and troubleshoot issues.
• Use servers and lab tools to verify functionality and benchmark system performance.
• Document test setups, results, and findings in engineering reports; improve FA turnaround time.
• Contribute to automated system test scripts to streamline troubleshooting and efficiency.

• Assist in the system level testing, duplication, verification and troubleshooting customer’s RMA which includes DIMM modules, DDR, I2C/I3C Hub, Temperature Sensors or other integrated circuits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FAE, Test, Product, QA, DE and Marketing to understand, duplicate and troubleshoot customer’s reported issues.
• Utilize servers, client PC, lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, protocol analyzer and other test instruments to duplicate, troubleshoot customer’s reported issues and perform product functional verification and system performance benchmarking.
• Document system test setup/environment, results, and findings in detailed engineering reports and contribute to improvement of FA turnaround time.
• Contributes to the development and enhancement of automated system test scripts to streamline the troubleshooting process and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. You must not have graduated before September 2027.
• Strong understanding of digital and analog circuits, semiconductor devices, and computer architecture principles.
• Familiarity with various computer operating system i. e. Windows, Linux and memory test applications software for system level memory testing and validation.
• Familiarity with lab equipment and measurement techniques for silicon validation, including oscilloscopes, Power Supply, and Data Timing Generator.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or scripting languages for test automation and data analysis.
• Hands‑On Experience with Python test automation equipment such programmable power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the field of silicon validation.

Additional Information

The expected hourly pay range for this position is $31.25/hr - $41.50/hr. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
