Qualifications

• Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing.
• NYS Registered Nurse Practitioner license and current NP registration.
• NYS Registered Professional Nurse license and current RN registration.
• Applicable National Board Certification (such as ANCC, PNCB, etc).
• Current BLS (American Heart Association).
• Infection Control Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for direct patient care on an outpatient and/or inpatient service.
• Evaluates new and/or established patients by obtaining health histories and performing exams.
• Orders labs, imaging, diagnostic testing, and consultations; develops patient care plans.
• Prescribes medications and therapeutic interventions per guidelines and scope.
• Counsels/educates patients on disease management and prevention.
• Contributes to teaching and mentorship within training programs when applicable.
• Documents activities in medical records per standards.
