Job summary

Arm Limited is seeking a memory designer to develop and validate best-in-class memories for Arm CPUs, GPUs and SoCs. You will work on memories on advanced process nodes across various foundries, collaborating with circuit and layout teams.

Qualifications

• Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with emphasis in VLSI design, or a Bachelor's with relevant experience.
• 2–5 years circuit design experience, SRAM preferred.
• Experience in physical IP design (memories, standard cells, IOs, or PHYs) and basic memory principles.
• Understanding technology trade-offs in deep sub-micron technologies.
• Experience with Cadence Virtuoso or similar schematic/layout tools, Spice simulators.
• Collaborative environment mindset and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Understand memory architectures and development flows.
• Do transistor-level full-custom design and collaborate with physical design for layouts.
• Develop features and optimize Arm memories for performance, power, and area in advanced nodes (3 nm+).
• Contribute across design spec, circuit, verification, memory characterization, FE validation, QA, and release processes.
• Develop scripts using AI tools to improve execution efficiency and quality.
• Ensure high-quality, high-performance memory designs with minimal power for Arm CPUs/GPUs/SoCs.

This job is for a memory designer for developing and validating best in class memories for Arm CPUs, GPUs and SOCs. You get a chance to take part in designing memories on advanced process technology nodes from various foundry offerings.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will be working on the following areas:

• Understanding memory architectures and memory development flows
• Transistor level full-custom design and collaboration with the physical design team for layout realization
• Developing new features, and optimizing and improving Arm memories to meet Performance, Power and Area targets in advanced technology (3 nm and beyond)!
• Contribute in all parts of the memory development flow, starting at design specification, circuit design and perform design margining, physical verification, memory characterization, FE verification, release procedure, and QA flow for memory used in CPU, GPU and SoCs.
• Become comfortable with use of AI to develop scripts to improve execution efficiency and quality
• Ensuring high-quality and high-performance memory designs with the lowest possible power as needed for Arm CPUs, GPUs, and SOCs!

Required Skills and Experience :

• Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other relevant technical fields with emphasis in VLSI design or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with relevant work experience
• 2-5 years of circuit design experience (SRAM preferred)
• Demonstrate project experience in physical IP design (memories, standard cells, IOs, or PHYs)
• An understanding of basic memory principles, especially for SRAM.
• A good understanding of technology trade-offs in deep sub-micron technologies
• Experience with Cadence Virtuoso or similar schematic and layout editing tools, and with Spice and FastSpice simulators
• You love working in a collaborative setting
• You enjoy innovation and continuous improvement
• You appreciate methodology and efficiency improvements

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :

• Have designed on silicon technologies equal or smaller than 28nm
• Have some exposure to CMOS layout
• Statistical simulations (e.g. Monte-Carlo)
• Familiar with basic coding with Perl, .tcl, java, UNIX
• Familiarity with AI toolsAdditional Information

$130,100-$176,000 per year
