Job summary

Brookside Inn in Castle Rock, Colorado, is seeking a Memory Care Activities Assistant to support residents in our secured memory care unit for female residents.

You will help create monthly calendars, assist with activities, and document participation to promote physical, social, and mental well-being of residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Must speak/read/write/understand English.
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Commitment to safety and care standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activities Director in creating a monthly activity calendar.
• Print and post calendars in visible locations for residents and visitors.
• Interview residents or family members to obtain activity preferences.
• Coordinate and assist residents to activity locations.
• Support activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being.
• Document activity attendance and resident responses in notes.
• Observe mood and involvement; report changes to staff.
• Assist with Resident/Family Council meetings as indicated.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Activity Director.
• Help update annual/quarterly activity assessments and care plans.

Brookside Inn, a privately owned skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Castle Rock, is seeking a compassionate and conscientious Memory Care Activities Assistant to join our team in our secured memory care unit, which exclusively serves female residents. Rate of Pay

• $20.00 an hour

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent

• Assist the Activities Director in creating a monthly calendar of activities.
• Assistwith printing and posting the calendars in prominent locations visible to residents and visitors.
• Interviewresidents or family members to obtain activity preferences.
• Coordinate andassistresidents in getting to activity locations within the facility.
• Assistin conducting scheduled activities to promote the physical, social, and mental well-being of residents.
• Document resident activity program attendance and ensure that all charted activity notes are informative, descriptive of the services provided, andindicatethe resident’s response to the service.
• Observe resident mood, behavior, and degree of involvement in facility activities and report any changes or concerns to the Activities Director, and or Nurse.
• Involve residents and families in planning the activities program when possible.
• Conduct in-room activities programs for those residents whobenefitfrom one‑on‑one visits.
• Assist with Resident/Family Council meetings asindicated.
• Complete otherduties asassigned to them by the Activity Director.
• Assist with completing annual/quarterly activity assessments as scheduled andupdateresident care plans.
• Adheres to all facility policies and procedures.
• Follow appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all timesto protect residents and themselves.
