Job summary

WellQuest of Elk Grove in Elk Grove, CA 95624 is seeking a Full Time Activity Assistant to support resident engagement and wellness programs. You will collaborate with the Directors and staff to run meaningful activities, monitor participation, and ensure safety.

The role requires experience with group activities, strong English communication, and the ability to assist with exercise programming and event coordination.

Qualifications

  • Requires at least six months of experience in planned activities.
  • One year of experience in conducting group activities and supervising volunteers.
  • Prefer one year supervisory experience.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations for pricing and producing reports.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communications with residents, staff, families, vendors.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Proficient in basic office equipment including a PC for job performance.
  • Good health verified by health screening; mobile and able to assist residents.
  • Criminal record clearance required before employment.
  • Current first aid training.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Director of Programs, care staff, and receptionists to maximize resident participation.
  • Assist in monthly activity calendar planning and new activities.
  • Update digital signs, menus, and movie descriptions.
  • Survey residents to identify preferred activities and needs.
  • Help develop and maintain daily exercise programming.
  • Coordinate with Director of Activities and provide feedback on programming effectiveness.
  • Set up and clean up activities; organize supplies and notify when replenishment is needed.
  • Practice safety and protect residents from harm; report concerns immediately.
  • Assist with marketing events.
  • Plan and lead activities per monthly calendar under supervision.
  • Create flyers, calendars, newsletters, and update social media as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate volunteers; train and organize day-to-day tasks.
  • Assist with scheduling transportation or driving as needed.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and report issues promptly.

Salary Range: $18.50 - $19.50 Hourly

Job Shift: AM

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  • 1. Work with Director of Programs, care staff, and receptionists to ensure that the highest possible number of residents attend each activity.
  • 2. Assist in the monthly planning of the activity calendar. Brainstorm with Programs Director to plan and to conduct new activities.
  • 3. Update digital signs, menu activity schedules, and movie descriptions.
  • 4. Assist with surveying residents and making observations and recommendations to determine what activities are of interest.
  • 5. Help to develop and to maintain the daily exercise programming.
  • 6. Communicate with the Director of Activities to ensure each program is being implemented to its fullest potential. Provide Activity Director with feedback regarding the effectiveness of current programming.
  • 7. Set-up for activities as necessary and assist in clean-up afterward. Clean up and stow away supplies upon completion of activity. Organize supplies and materials in an orderly fashion. Notify the Programs Director in a timely fashion of all supplies that need to be replenished.
  • 8. Practice good safety and protect residents from any possible harm. Report all safety concerns immediately.

QualificationsQualifications
  • Must have at least six (6) months experience in providing planned activities or be enrolled in an appropriate education or training program.
  • Must have one (1) year of experience in conducting group activities and be knowledgeable in evaluating residents’ needs, supervising other employees and in training volunteers.
  • Prefer one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations for preparingpricing and producing reports.
  • Demonstrates sound communications skills, both verbally and written in dealing with residents, staff, families, visitors and vendors.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Be proficient in basic office equipment (including a personal computer) for the purpose of accomplishing and maintaining ahigh level of job performance.
  • Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test result not more than 6 months prior or seven (7) days after employment. Be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job. Assist in loading and un-loading of residents into property’s vehicle/van. Be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job. Will require physically assisting residents during activities.
  • Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical andemotional needs of older people and their families.
  • Employee must pass a criminal record clearance prior to beginning work in the community.
  • Employee must possess current first aid training.
  • Employee must be at least eighteen (18)years of age
