Base pay will be determined by skills and experience, with eligibility for team-based bonuses. Temporary associates are not benefits-eligible but may participate in the 401(k) plan.

Responsibilities
Job Summary

In alignment with Brookdale’s Resident and Family Engagement philosophy, plans, coordinates, and facilitates a calendar of person-centered dementia-friendly programs tailored to residents' needs, enhancing their quality of life through meaningful activities and respecting individual routines and interests.

Essential Functions
  • Designs a 7-day person-centered program that is engaging, creative, and meets residents’ needs and interests; promotes engagement across all well-being domains, including sensory-focused small group activities.
  • Develops monthly calendars based on residents’ interests, ensuring scheduled programs and special events are executed.
  • Ensures dementia care programs comply with Brookdale standards, regulatory requirements, and policies.
  • Collaborates with community leaders to educate and provide resources to families and staff about Alzheimer’s and dementia care, including facilitating in-services and training sessions.
  • May supervise Clare Bridge Program Assistants, including hiring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Participates in planning, decorating, and executing community events and special programs.
  • Reports changes in residents’ health and behavior, collaborating with the clinical team for appropriate interventions.
  • Oversees social media content to align with Brookdale’s branding and standards.
  • Schedules and plans external programming events, possibly involving driving a community vehicle.
  • Manages departmental budget and expenses, and may oversee volunteer programs.
  • Performs personal care, housekeeping, and dietary duties as needed to maintain service quality, following training and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience with older adults and dementia preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean 3-year driving record; may require a commercial license.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and other physical requirements.
  • Knowledge of dementia care, program development, and regulatory standards.
