Job summary

Assisting Hands Littleton is seeking a compassionate caregiver to support a client living with memory loss in a home setting. You will focus on safety, comfort, and respect, helping with daily routines and meaningful companionship.

This role offers weekday hours from Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM–8:00 PM, competitive pay, and opportunities to grow within a caring team. You’ll work one-on-one with a client and their family to make afternoons and evenings calmer and more enjoyable.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience in a facility or with an in-home care agency.
• Experience caring for someone with memory-related conditions (Alzheimer's or dementia).
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance.
• Three professional references and ability to work in the U.S.
• TB test within 30 days of hire and excellent communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a home with cats.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a compassionate caregiver to support a wonderful client living with memory loss.

Weekday Caregiver: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-8:00 PM

This is a wonderful opportunity for a caregiver who enjoys building a genuine relationship with a client and becoming a familiar, trusted part of their daily routine.

What Your Time Together Will Look Like

Your role will be centered around helping our client feel safe, supported, and respected while encouraging as much independence as possible.

You could possibly provide:

• Personal care and assistance with daily routines
• Companionship and meaningful conversation
• Memory care support with patience, reassurance, and gentle redirection
• Assistance with meals, snacks, and afternoon/evening routines
• Encouragement and engagement throughout the shift
• Assistance with maintaining a safe and comfortable environment
• Support as the client transitions from the afternoon into their evening routine
• A reassuring and supportive presence for both the client and their family

And sometimes, the most important thing you'll do is simply slow down, be present, and meet the person where they are.

This client has cats in the home, so you'll need to be comfortable working around cats.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, patient, and comfortable working with individuals experiencing memory loss.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience in a facility or with an in-home care agency
• Experience caring for someone with Alzheimer's, dementia, or another memory-related condition
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Three professional references
