Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Current Maine Physical Therapist license.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in dementia care and Alzheimer’s disease.
• Ability to adapt treatment to cognitive and functional needs.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.
• Willingness to continue learning and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and assessments.
• Develop individualized plans of care based on residents' needs and goals.
• Provide skilled interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.
• Incorporate residents’ interests and daily routines into therapy when appropriate.
• Use environmental modifications to maximize participation.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed.
• Educate residents and families on mobility and safety strategies.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and care partners.
