Rosewater Memory Care seeks a Memory Care Nurse Manager to lead the clinical care for our 18‑resident community, oversee the nursing team, and participate in shift rotation. Qualifications

  • RN license in Illinois required.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 2+ years of nursing experience in a senior living community preferred.
  • 1+ year of dementia care experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of senior care regulations and compliance.

Position Summary

As the lead nurse for our 18-resident community, the Memory Care Nurse Manager will oversee clinical care and guide the nursing team while serving in the shift rotation. This hands‑on structure keeps the leader closely connected to each resident, supports consistent care, and provides a meaningful opportunity to help build an organization committed to dementia care excellence.

The Memory Care Nurse Manager will prioritize quality over quantity, fostering genuine connections and providing the hands‑on, personalized care that drew you to nursing in the first place. The Memory Care Nurse Manager ensures that Rosewater standards and all applicable state and public regulations for resident care are consistently met. This role is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, overseeing the delivery of resident care services, providing leadership and direction to the clinical team, and managing the clinical budget.

The Memory Care Nurse Manager plays a vital role in creating a safe, compassionate, and engaging environment that supports the emotional, physical, psychological, and social well‑being of each resident while fostering a collaborative, team‑oriented culture throughout the community.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited university preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois required
Experience
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in a senior living community preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease required
  • Strong understanding of senior care regulations and compliance requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong leadership, clinical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to provide a safe and quality environment for residents and team members
  • Knowledge of dementia care and sensitivity to the unique needs of seniors
  • Experience with infection control practices and medication management
  • Familiarity with medical software and clinical equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and team members
  • Ability to professionally assess and evaluate prospective residents in various healthcare settings
  • Directly oversee the delivery of care to all residents to ensure emotional, physical, psychological, and safety needs are met through all services and programs
  • Assess and monitor the health and social needs of residents to support individualized quality of life
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of current and prospective residents in the community, homes, hospitals, or other healthcare settings as needed
  • Develop, review, and update individualized resident service plans, assessments, and evaluations in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Monitor documentation to ensure all regulatory timeframes for assessments and service plans are met
  • Communicate pertinent resident health and safety information with physicians, specialists, residents, families, and appropriate team members
  • Coordinate resident and family care conferences alongside the Executive Director
  • Monitor and report changes in resident condition, symptoms, or behaviors appropriately and timely
  • Educate residents and families regarding health maintenance, wellness, and disease prevention
  • Oversee all aspects of medication administration and management, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures regarding psychotropic medications and narcotics
  • Ensure compliance with all state and local regulatory requirements, including mandatory reporting
  • Ensure all incident, accident, and concern reports are completed, filed, investigated, and followed up on appropriately and timely
  • Monitor infection prevention and control practices to ensure compliance with community standards and regulations
  • Provide, coordinate, schedule, and monitor clinical training programs, orientation, and ongoing in‑service education for team members
  • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention of clinical team members; work with the executive director on any disciplinary issues and actions needed
  • Oversee and/or complete nursing and care team schedules, including daily and monthly assignments
  • Manage labor costs, clinical supplies, and additional line items within the clinical budget
  • Provide 24/7 on‑call clinical support as required
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and team‑oriented culture focused on quality resident care and service excellence
