Benchmark Senior Living in Middletown, CT is seeking a compassionate Memory Care Activity Assistant to organize and lead engaging programs that address residents' social, emotional, and cognitive needs. You will support the Activity Director and help create a seven-day activity schedule.

Responsibilities include leading individual and group activities, tailoring programs to interests, communicating changes to the Harbor Care Director, and maintaining confidentiality while delivering

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma, bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
• Possesses training and knowledge in recreational activities.
• Possesses training and knowledge of Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community.
• Shows a consistent ability to coordinate multiple tasks, demonstrates a positive attitude, and works well under pressure.

Responsabilités

• Lead one-on-one, small group and large group activities per programming schedule.
• Develop and implement a seven-day-a-week activity program that is engaging.
• Support residents by understanding backgrounds, participation needs, abilities, and interests.
• Encourage residents to attend and participate in activities.
• Communicate changes in residents’ condition or behavior to Harbor Care Director.
• Stays with group during excursions.
