Job summary

Silverado Encinitas seeks a Director of Resident Engagement to lead meaningful memory care activities, fostering joy, connection, and purpose for residents. You will design daily programs, supervise staff and volunteers, and collaborate with care teams to embed activities into care plans.

The role requires 2+ years in elder care programming, supervisory experience, and comfort working with pets; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. Salary range: $75,000–$85,000 USD.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a social or recreational program for older adults
• Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s or related dementias is highly desirable
• 1+ year of supervisory experience, including coaching, team building, and performance management
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Comfortable working in an environment with pets
• Active role: walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Reliable transportation to meet attendance and outreach needs

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and implement daily resident engagement programs for diverse resident needs
• Supervise engagement team members and volunteers
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate activities into overall care plans
• Assist in care of community pets (dogs, cats, birds)
• Promote Silverado’s mission and programs to civic and memory care groups
• May work outside regular hours as needed
