Job summary

Silverado in Brea is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents, ensuring dietary needs are met and quality is maintained. You will follow menus precisely, adapt meals as needed, and uphold strict cleanliness and safety standards in a team-focused kitchen environment.

The role requires at least 1 year of cooking experience, a Food Handler's certificate, and good English communication. Training is provided, with a full-time PM shift and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or educational equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation and cooking (grilling, sautéing, broiling, frying, baking).
• Food Handlers Certificate from the County Department of Environmental Health.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Effective communicator in verbal and written English.
• Ability to read and follow menus and recipes, including substitutions.
• Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
• Active role: walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
• Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
• Comfortable working around animals and pets.
