Job summary

The Health Center at Standifer Place in Chattanooga, TN seeks an energetic Activity Assistant to lead individual and group recreation programs for Memory Care residents. You will plan monthly calendars, support dementia-specific activities, and foster meaningful relationships with families and staff.

Full-time role, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with occasional evenings or weekends and some holiday hours.

Qualifications

• Outgoing, upbeat personality required.
• Ability to lead both individual and group recreation programs.
• Interest in arts/crafts/music is a plus.
• Must adapt quickly to changes and decide independently when needed.
• Enthusiastic and capable of motivating others.
• Enjoys working with the elderly and building relationships with families.

Responsibilities

• Design a creative monthly calendar with one-on-one and group activities.
• Lead activities for varying dementia/cognitive levels and encourage participation.
• Collaborate with Campus Activity Director and community volunteers.
• Plan and attend local community outings.
• Participate in Memory Care team using person-centered approaches to behavior expressions.
• Greet new residents and help them engage with peers.
