Job summary

LCB Senior Living’s Traditions of Dedham seeks a Memory Care Activity Assistant for a part-time role. Plan, develop, and implement daily activities for residents, fostering engagement in a warm, supportive environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating transportation, supporting volunteers, and assisting with newsletters and calendars. A high school diploma is preferred, with gerontology experience encouraged. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• The ability to assist in the development and implementation of activities is required.
• The ability to create interest in activities and motivate residents to participate daily.
• Creativity and motivational skills are necessary.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing is essential.
• Requires bending, stretching, lifting.
• Must be able to perform tasks and work independently.
• Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience in recreational therapy or related field preferred; Gerontology experience preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required with limited moving violations.

• Develop ideas to improve and expand the Activities Program.
• Maintain a professional, warm, caring relationship with residents and families.
• Arrange transportation for residents to and from activities.
• Assist with Volunteer Programs and store operations.
• Assist with newsletters and calendars.
• Attend training sessions and orientation.
• Drive residents in a van as needed.

Gerontology experience preferred.Certificates/Licenses: A valid drivers license in the state of work is required with no more than two moving violations in a three year period as determined by our insurance broker.Physical Demands:Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment.Visual and auditory acuity.Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs., and be able to carry objects.Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand.Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
