Job summary

Highlands Nursing & Rehab is seeking a Memory Care Activities Assistant for the day shift. The role involves organizing and delivering memory care activity programming, including one-to-one and group activities, to engage residents and support well-being.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (preferred), Activity Assistant Certification (preferred), and SRNA certification (required). Join our care team dedicated to compassionate service and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Activity Assistant Certification is preferred.
• SRNA certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Organize and participate in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small group facilitation, and large group presentations.
• Utilize environment to provide comfort and stimulation to residents.
• Foster a sense of community within the facility.
• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.
• Utilize models such as pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy to achieve individualized programming.
• Decorate the facility and prepare for events and seasonal parties.
• Develop and post monthly calendar for residents and families.
• Participate in recreational programs for residents in rooms.
• Promote volunteer efforts in the community.
• Maintain records of activities and attendance.

Position Overview:

The Activities Assistant organizes and participates in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small group facilitation, and large group presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize the environment to provide both comfort and stimulation to the resident population.
• Foster a sense of community within the community environment.
• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.
• Utilize a variety of models to achieve individualized programming such as pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy, etc.
• Assist with decorating the facility and preparing for special events and seasonal parties.
• Develop and post monthly calendar as a planning resource for residents and families.
• Participate in recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms.
• Promote volunteer efforts in the community.
• Maintain records of activities and attendance.

Qualifications:
