Job summary

Micron Technology, a leader in memory and storage solutions, seeks a CAD Engineer to develop and improve design automation tools used in IC design, physical implementation, and verification. You will collaborate with design, process, and software teams to drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering workflows and maintain productivity across projects.

The role emphasizes leading tool development, large-scale project delivery, and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10+ years in semiconductor engineering, CAD/EDA, or verification.
• Strong programming skills in Python and at least one additional language (C/C++, Perl, Lisp, etc.).
• Experience with IC design CAD tools across schematic capture, layout, simulation, and verification.
• Knowledge of CMOS design, area, performance, and power tradeoffs.
• Experience with AI/ML and RTL-to-GDSII workflows is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, evaluation, and enhancement of CAD and EDA tools, flows, and methodologies.
• Drive large-scale projects and provide expertise in CAD, design automation, and verification.
• Guide AI/ML integration across CAD workflows and engineering applications.
• Collaborate with design and process teams to improve design efficiency and tool effectiveness.
• Deliver training, documentation, and technical support for new tools and methodologies.
