Job summary

Best Military Resume is seeking a grounds maintenance worker to patrol and maintain the memorial site, perform litter removal, mowing, weed control, irrigation checks, and basic routine maintenance. The role requires early start at 7:00 AM and outdoor work year-round.

You will document completed work for government reports and lift up to 50 lbs, with a valid driver's license and ability to pass a federal background check.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of grounds maintenance or landscaping experience.
• Experience operating mowers and landscaping equipment.
• Ability to pass a federal criminal background investigation.
• Reliable attendance for a 7:00 AM start.
• Able to work outdoors year-round and lift 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the site for litter and debris multiple times a day.
• Empty trash and haul it to the disposal site daily.
• Blow off plazas, sidewalks, and hardscape every morning before 8:00 AM.
• Collect mementos left by visitors daily.
• Remove stickers, gum, and weeds from pavers and walkways.
• Report graffiti or vandalism with photos the same day.
• Keep restrooms clean, stocked, and operating.
• Mow turf areas to National Park Service standards.
• Weed and maintain planting beds.
• Assist with irrigation checks and seasonal startup/winterization.
• Perform daily lighting inspections across the memorial.
• Assist with preventive maintenance on pumps and HVAC units.
• Document completed work, including photos, for required government reports
