Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM seeks a Post Master student to join the MP A-11 group focusing on membrane materials development and engineering.

Work includes synthesis, characterization, and translation of polybenzimidazole membranes for gas separations, with access to diverse facilities in a multidisciplinary setting.

Requirements include a BS in a related field within the last 3 years and a strong record of research achievement; onsite work in northern New Mexico.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with membrane-based gas, liquid, and vapor separations processes;
• Record of technical excellence with publications, presentations, and references;
• Good communication skills (oral and written);
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team or independently;
• Ability to plan and organize assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop polybenzimidazole and PBI-derived membranes with tailored gas transport characteristics.
• Synthesize, formulate, and characterize materials for separation applications.
• Translate membranes to industrially relevant platforms and design experiments.
