POSITION SUMMARY:

The Membership and Sports Coordinator is responsible for overseeing front desk operations and supporting sports and teen programs to ensure high-quality, safe experiences for YMCA members and program participants. Working under the direction of the Director of Operations, this role is dedicated to enhancing customer satisfaction, membership sales, and retention, while also assisting in planning and implementing youth programs and community activities. Additionally, the position involves marketing, administrative tasks, and support for the annual campaign.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Oversee front desk activities, greet members, and provide excellent customer service.
2. Answer questions, address concerns, and process payments accurately.
3. Promote membership sales by providing tours, answering questions, and handling guest fees. Maintain records and assist with retention processes, including conducting member surveys and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
4. Schedule and supervise front desk staff, ensuring adequate coverage and assisting in recruitment and hiring.
5. Supervise program staff for sports and youth activities.
6. Help manage day-to-day operations for sports and teen programs, ensuring programs meet community needs, adhering to YMCA standards, and implementing safety protocols, including child protection policies.
7. Create and distribute marketing materials (e.g., flyers, social media posts) to promote YMCA programs and events. Support the development of new activities and lead generation efforts in the local community.
8. Track and report on sales management records, maintain accurate program enrollment data, and manage financial transactions. Complete daily end-of-day procedures and reconciliation.
9. Keep the front desk and program areas clean and organized. Report damaged materials and ensure program spaces are safe and welcoming.
10. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of (1) one year’s experience in staff supervision.
Minimum of (1) one year’s experience in programming/program growth (Youth oriented Programming and Sports).

Certification(s):
CACPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 90 days of hire.
