Job Type: Contract through March 2026

Location: Remote (note: attendance at annual conference is required)

Pay range: $30-35 per hour

Our nonprofit client is looking for amembership specialistto join their team until the end of March 2026. The specialist will assist with managing membership programs and initiatives, supporting recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts. This role requires extensive outreach, relationship management, and collaboration with internal teams to strengthen membership value and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with members and non-members through calls, emails, and in-person meetings
  • Respond to membership inquiries accurately and in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with Sponsorships & Meetings Manager to share and develop leads
  • Analyze, follow up on, and approve membership applications
  • Coordinate and attend membership events and meetings to engage current and prospective members
  • Support membership campaigns and follow-up communications
  • Maintain and update membership database
  • Partner with accounting on annual dues, resignations, and category changes
  • Coordinate and participate in Membership Committee meetings
  • Produce membership reports as needed
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in field sales, membership, or recruitment, preferably in non-profit or technology-related organizations
  • Experience with pipeline and forecasting management
  • Positive, proactive, and customer-focused attitude
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks and priorities under deadlines
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email systems
  • Overtime and on-site attendance required at the Annual Conference venue
