Job summary

The Biodiversity Funders Group, based in San Francisco, seeks a Membership Associate to connect and support its members and programs. This role works closely with senior staff to deliver national meetings, webinars, member communications, surveys, and other resources.

The position offers professional development and growth, with opportunities to shadow the Deputy Director and contribute to conservation initiatives. Travel up to 4–5 times annually; starting salary is $65,000 with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong project management and ability to multitask across initiatives.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with Google Docs/Sheets.
• Experience with databases; Salesforce a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; editing/proofreading skills a plus.
• At least 3 years in outreach/communication in nonprofit settings.
• Broad nonprofit/philanthropy knowledge and environmental familiarity.
• Strong time management and collaboration with leaders.
• Willingness to travel up to 4–5 times per year.

Responsibilities

• Interact with BFG members and partners.
• Plan Annual Membership Meeting with the ED.
• Support Land, Freshwater and Marine Conservation meetings and webinars.
• Publicize events via the website and email; coordinate with staff.
• Nurture relationships with members and participants.
• Respond to information requests promptly.
• Schedule calls/webinars and facilitate meetings.
• Create, write and edit external and internal materials.
