Position Title: Membership Manager
Reports to: Vice President of Donor and Member Relations

Position Summary:
The Membership Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the museum’s membership program, focusing on growth, engagement, and retention. This position develops and executes strategies to attract new members, enhance the member experience, and build loyalty. Collaborating with various departments, the Membership Manager ensures alignment with institutional goals while maintaining high standards of customer service. Additionally, this role involves supervising membership staff, analyzing program data, and fostering meaningful relationships to support the museum’s mission and revenue objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement strategies to increase membership enrollment, retention rates, and conversions to support a $2M membership budget.
- Monitor and analyze membership trends and technology to inform decisions about program improvement and enhancement of the overall member experience.
- In collaboration with the Marketing team, create and execute compelling campaigns for membership acquisition, renewal, and pipeline growth through upgrades and dual giving.
- Develop and execute digital communications and print materials for General and Patron Members.
- Administer surveys to gather demographic and psychographic insights.
- Train and supervise membership staff, ensuring excellent customer service, accuracy in membership records and alignment with institutional goals.
- Work with the Admissions team and Senior Manager of Guest Operations to bolster onsite sales and uphold high standards for customer service.
- Prepare regular reports on membership metrics, providing actionable insights for leadership.
Skills and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in membership management or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit or cultural setting.
- Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Altru, Raiser’s Edge, Sales Force).
- Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Creative problem-solver with a customer-focused approach.
- Passionate about the museum's mission, with a professional demeanor.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
