Job summary

SEIU Local 1021 in Oakland is seeking a Membership Director to guide the membership department’s strategic vision and modernize data collection and quality across dues, per capita, and PAC processing.

The role leads a high-performing team, expands data capabilities, and drives revenue for worker power programs while aligning with the Local’s mission and priorities.

Salary ranges from $141,228.34 to $162,412.53 annually with comprehensive benefits; located in Northern California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 4 years’ experience in various areas of database management.
• 3+ years’ experience supervising professional staff.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Expertise in MS Excel and analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to build teamwork.
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement department vision, goals, plans, and systems.
• Lead data competency, data protection, and governance.
• Plan and coordinate large, complex projects and programs.
• Expand and streamline collection and input of data into our data system.
• Modernize data systems, platforms, and resources.
• Design and implement a dues revenue collection program.
• Improve department performance with metrics and standards.
• Provide data insights and actionable insights with visualizations.
• Lead and sustain a high-performance team and culture of learning.
• Direct routine department activities including dues, COPE, per capita, lists, membership, PAC processing.
