Job summary

Indiana Municipal Power Agency in Carmel, Indiana, seeks a dedicated Member Services professional to maintain relationships with its 61 member communities and support training programs.

You will coordinate presentations, oversee the Safety and Training program, and help plan annual Member Services activities and budget, traveling frequently to Indiana communities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Electric utility experience preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% within Indiana.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain steady contact with IMPA member communities, IMPA Commissioners, local elected officials, and member utility staff.
  • Coordinate development of meeting presentations to educate members, their staff, officials, the media and customers about IMPA and public power.

Job description

Indiana Municipal Power Agency is a joint action agency created by Indiana’s municipal utilities to provide their complete wholesale power supply and electric transmission delivery. IMPA’s headquarters are located in Carmel, Indiana. At IMPA, we support 61 communities in Indiana and Ohio through providing low-cost, reliable, and environmentally responsible electricity, as well as a variety of other services to help in the overall success of each town or city.

Our team is seeking an individual who will help maintain relationships with our member communities and provide relevant training and programs to support them and build awareness of IMPA and its 61 members. This is a full-time position that will be a part of IMPA’s Member Services Department.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Electric utility experience
  • Customer service experience, preferably in public power
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to travel at least 70% of the time, primarily work-day trips within the state of Indiana and periodically overnight.
