Job description

Position: Member Services Representative - Full Time - Overnight Hours

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Reports to: General Manager

Special Requirements:

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within time frames required by company and maintain physical ability to perform CPR/AED in the event of a medical emergency.
  2. Must obtain Tanning Certification within time frame required by company.
  3. Must be available for 3rd Shift Overnight.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Member Services Representative is responsible for creating a positive “Judgement Free” member experience by providing a superior level of customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Greet members, prospective members, and guests, providing exceptional customer service.
  2. Handle all front desk related activities including:
    1. Answering phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
    2. Checking members into the system.
    3. New member sign-up.
    4. Taking prospective members on tours.
  3. Facilitate needed updates to member’s accounts.
  4. Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner and elevate to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed.
  5. Perform cleaning duties as required to maintain neatness and cleanliness of the club.
  6. Close Shift for that business day.
  7. Create bank deposit for next day.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  1. Exceptional customer service skills; able to interact in a positive and professional way with members and co-workers, exceeding the member’s expectations.
  2. Must be able to work 3rd shift (overnight).
  3. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  4. A passion for fitness and health.
  5. Upbeat, professional, and positive attitude.
  6. Punctuality and reliability.
  7. Strong listener with the ability to empathize and problem solve.
  8. Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

PHYSICAL: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties; occasionally to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate amounts of weight (up to 50lbs); and to verbally communicate in person or on the phone to exchange information. Must maintain physical ability to administer CPR in the event of a medical emergency.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
