Job summary

Job Summary

This employee is responsible for greeting and directing members and telephone calls to appropriate staff. All employees of State Employees Credit Union are proactive, result driven, and fully committed to the Credit Union's mission and vision. They strive to achieve the highest standards of excellence and consistently exceed the expectations established by Credit Union Management.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Greet members and answer telephone; refer members to the appropriate staff.
  • Perform other functions for various departments as required.
  • Maintain pamphlet/information racks in the lobby, and forms in the drive thru.
  • Receive, separate and distribute mail.
  • Sort out manifest bags-this mail comes from the branches.
  • Assist members with basic new account information.
  • Assist the Call Center with basic daily calls (Overload).
  • Assist Member Service with stop payments and wires.
  • Assist members with Bill Pay inquiries/resolve issues.
  • Assist with debit card issues, problem solving, instant issues, and disputes.
  • Assist members with Mobile Banking questions, inquiries, and trouble shooting.
  • Set up members for online banking, reset passwords, reset security questions, and printing e-statements.
  • Print counter checks, order checks, and order debit cards for members as needed.
  • Order supplies for reception area.
  • Serve as a back‑up to the teller line.
  • Performs all other assigned duties.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Must have knowledge of office machines and equipment and be able to type.
  • Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the members and general public.
Education/Experience
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited high school or have the equivalent of a high school diploma (G.E.D. certificate).

  • Works in a safety conscious manner which ensures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace.

  • Complies with company policies and procedures and local, state and federal regulations.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
