Summary

Under the direction of branch management, the Member Service Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional member experience. Tasks include sales and service activities, maintaining and balancing teller cash drawers, and processing transactions efficiently, professionally, and accurately. The role involves upholding quality standards, identifying member needs, promoting products and services, and supporting proactive business development activities. The Associate will make sound decisions on the teller line, adhere to policies, procedures, and compliance regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with branch operations, including opening/closing, balancing drawers, and member assistance.
2. Work as a teller, handling account requests, transactions, and maintaining a cash drawer.
3. Maintain a professional attitude and work area; address member complaints per standards.
4. Respond to inquiries about rates, charges, and account history; cross-sell products while respecting regulations.
5. Verify checks via Check 21 system.
6. Maintain vault access security including opening and closing.
7. Resolve member issues and liaise with other departments.
8. Handle electronic funds transfer inquiries and initiate disputes as needed.
9. Promote BSA compliance and assist with related functions.
10. Ensure security and privacy of information, completing annual training on security and regulatory topics.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• At least three years in customer service; banking experience preferred.
• Proficient in basic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain Notary Public status if requested.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Demands

Regular use of hands, sitting, standing, occasional walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Vision and mobility requirements are typical for office work.
