Qualifications

Function Description

Processes a variety of financial transactions and member services in both lobby and drive-up in a timely, accurate, and professional manner while providing exceptional member service. Maintains thorough knowledge of all Credit Union products and services. Consistently evaluates sales opportunities, makes recommendations or offers products and services. Establishes new accounts for potential and existing members. Submits applications, provides support for, and closes loans for members.

Organizational Relationships

Reports to: Branch Manager

Contacts include: Credit Union members and their employers, Credit Union officials, other branches/departments, vendors, and external financial service providers.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience: Six months of cash handling; one year of sales or customer service preferred; experience with Bellco or in financial services preferred; lending experience preferred.

  • Strong communication skills, positive interaction in person, email, and phone
  • High teller balancing efficiency (85% or higher)
  • Accurate data entry and record updates
  • Ability to identify needs and sell products/services
  • Notary certification ability
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Equipment

Includes computer terminals, calculator, copy and fax machines, telephone, cash recycler, printers, ATMs, card printers, security alarms.

Essential Functions
  • Provide excellent member service and suggest process improvements
  • Communicate positively with members via in-person and phone interactions
  • Practice Bellco service standards and core values
  • Understand and promote Bellco products/services, deepen member relationships
  • Comply with all regulations, procedures, and standards
  • Support branch and corporate goals
  • Navigate and demonstrate use of various systems and devices
  • Open and maintain accounts, including IRAs, HSAs, and Coverdell accounts
  • Process wire transfers, loan applications, and conduct loan closings
  • Perform non-lending transactions and account maintenance
  • Assist with POA requests and notary services
  • Support branch operations and balancing
  • Maintain punctual attendance

Management may modify duties as needed.

Working Conditions

Physical ability to stand for long periods; hours or location may change to meet business needs.
