The Assistant Branch Manager I (ABM I) supports branch operations, primarily overseeing the teller line, and acts as a backup for the Branch Manager. This role involves assisting in achieving sales goals through cross-selling and referrals, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with policies. The ABM I also performs operational duties, staff supervision, and member service functions to support branch efficiency and member satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage workflow in the teller area, ensuring effective service delivery.
  • Assist in setting and monitoring performance goals for branch staff.
  • Act as a backup for teller transactions and branch operations as needed.
  • Open and close the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  • Provide feedback on staffing, recruitment, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain branch appearance and security, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Handle overrides, check holds, and large transactions within authorized limits.
  • Participate in staff training, member issue resolution, and special projects.
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all member and staff interactions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of branch operations experience, including 1 year in lead teller roles, with staff oversight.
  • Knowledge of financial products, services, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in office machines, Microsoft Office, and communication skills.
  • NMLS Registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Senior Teller/Supervisor experience in a Credit Union or financial industry.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
