Job summary

Vapi, based in San Francisco, is seeking a senior frontend engineer to elevate the quality of customer-facing dashboards and real-time data interfaces used to build and operate voice AI agents.

You will own end-to-end frontend work, shipping production React/TypeScript/Tailwind features with robust API integration, testing, and accessibility improvements while advancing the design system. The role offers ownership of significant data-heavy workflows in a fast-moving environment.

Why We’re Hiring This Role:

• We’re hiring a senior frontend engineer in San Francisco to raise the quality of the experiences customers use to build and operate voice AI agents.

• This role will shape frontend experiences across call health and LLM observability, reporting, and analytics - a broad product surface with significant room for ownership.

• You’ll shape data-heavy dashboards and call logs used by thousands of monthly active users, making complex, real-time workflows fast, accessible, and trustworthy.

What You’ll Do:

• 30 Days: Ramp up on Vapi’s frontend stack and Agent Loop/Observe. Build context with engineering, product, and design, learn how dashboards and call logs connect to backend services, and ship a meaningful improvement.

• 60 Days: Take end-to-end ownership of a core workflow in call health/LLM observability or reporting and analytics. Deliver production React, TypeScript, and Tailwind work with strong API integration, testing, and measurable improvements to performance, accessibility, or usability.

• 90 Days: Become the primary frontend owner for your area. Establish reusable patterns in the design system and Storybook, improve how data-intensive and real-time interfaces scale, and help the team use agentic coding without compromising craft.

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep frontend expertise and a record of shipping customer-facing products.

• Strong command of React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, browser APIs, and integrating frontend applications with backend services and APIs.

• Strong web performance and accessibility fundamentals, including tools such as Chrome DevTools and Lighthouse.

• A test-driven approach spanning component, visual, and end-to-end testing, plus experience with Storybook and design systems.

• Excellent product and UX judgment and strong collaboration with product and design in fast-moving environments.

• Production experience with agentic coding tools and Tailwind CSS. Data-intensive dashboards, complex tables, pagination across millions of rows, or real-time interfaces are a plus.
