SaidGig is seeking a full-time, remote research scientist to advance AI-powered financial reasoning across enterprise finance workflows. Qualifications

• Advanced degree or PhD in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, or related field; MBA/CFA considered.

• Experience building evaluation frameworks in finance or quantitative disciplines.
• Ability to translate ambiguous financial problems into measurable research questions and evaluation criteria.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities with multidisciplinary problem solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including research reports and technical docs.
• Experience in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
• Skills include financial research, enterprise AI benchmarking, and agentic finance workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, own, and improve evaluation frameworks for AI agents in financial domains, including benchmark suites, scoring methods, quality rubrics, and research-grade evaluation protocols.
• Conduct applied research on financial reasoning, decision-making, and workflow automation; translate findings into measurable AI performance improvements.
• Develop and curate datasets, test cases, and benchmark environments reflecting real-world finance challenges.
• Partner with AI researchers, ML engineers, and product teams to evaluate and improve finance-focused models.
• Analyze model behavior, failure modes, and performance trends to produce actionable insights.
• Produce internal research findings, technical reports, and best practices to deepen AI finance capabilities.
• Apply advances in AI, ML, financial modeling, evaluation science, and agent architectures to research initiatives.
• Establish research standards and thought leadership for enterprise financial intelligence and AI evaluation.
• Promote scientific rigor, experimentation, and collaborative innovation in a distributed research environment.

This full-time research role combines large language models, agentic systems, and finance expertise to shape the next generation of enterprise AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, own, and improve evaluation frameworks for AI agents in financial domains, including benchmark suites, scoring methods, quality rubrics, and research-grade evaluation protocols.
• Conduct applied research on financial reasoning, decision-making, and workflow automation, translating findings into measurable AI performance improvements.
• Develop and curate datasets, test cases, and benchmark environments that reflect real-world enterprise finance challenges.
• Partner with AI researchers, machine learning engineers, and product teams to evaluate, validate, and improve finance-focused models and agentic systems.
• Analyze model behavior, failure modes, and performance trends to produce actionable insights and inform research priorities.
• Produce internal research findings, technical reports, and best practices that deepen understanding of AI capabilities in finance.
• Apply emerging advances in AI, machine learning, financial modeling, evaluation science, and agent architectures to research initiatives.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related field. A PhD is strongly preferred; an MBA, CFA, or equivalent expertise will also be considered.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing research reports, technical documentation, or thought leadership content.
