We seek a backend-focused engineer to design, implement, and deploy production-ready software across our rapidly expanding portfolio. You will collaborate with product, AI, and operations teams to ship reliable, scalable solutions in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• AI-native development experience implementing production code with AI components
• Experience scaling distributed systems at growth-stage startups or top tech companies
• Strong backend engineering skills: APIs, services, databases, cloud infra
• Ability to work across unfamiliar codebases and ship improvements in complex environments
• Strong CS fundamentals; degree strongly preferred
• Experience spanning backend services, integrations, and product logic

What you will do

• Build and iterate software systems that transform how acquired businesses operate.
• Deploy production-ready applications into portfolio company environments, including complex legacy codebases and existing IT systems.
• Design APIs and data integrations that bring legacy IT systems into modern platforms.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, AI, and operations teams to turn ambiguous business problems into scalable software solutions.
• Build AI-enabled product experiences, workflow automation, and internal tools that improve efficiency, quality, and speed.
• Improve system reliability, observability, developer tooling, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and documentation.

What we look for

• AI-native development practice, including hands-on experience orchestrating coding agents like Codex or Claude Code to plan, write, and ship production code.
• A clear track record of building and scaling distributed systems at growth-stage startups or top technology companies.
• Strong backend engineering experience, including APIs, services, databases, cloud infrastructure, and production system design.
• Ability to work across unfamiliar codebases, understand existing systems quickly, and ship improvements in complex environments.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, with a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field strongly preferred.
• Experience working across the stack, from backend services and integrations to product-facing application logic.
• A pragmatic builder's mindset: ownership-driven, fast-moving, and focused on solving real business problems with reliable software.
