Job summary

Fit Fusion in Willoughby, OH is seeking a friendly Member Services Representative to greet members and guests, drive engagement, and support membership and retail sales at the gym level.

You will check in members, answer phones, promote tanning, group fitness, childcare, and special events, and assist with enrollment while maintaining a clean, professional front desk and comprehensive knowledge of hours and programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a service-oriented position preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing skills.
• Strong customer service orientation
• CPR/AED certification required (can be obtained within 30 days of hire)

Responsibilities

• Greets all members & guests with a focus on member engagement and retention.
• Assists with membership, retail and tanning product sales.
• Promotes membership privileges including tanning, group fitness, small group training and childcare.
• Delivers on new member enrollment expectations.
• Checks in all members and guests in accordance with company procedures, to include resolving any member check-in with an alert.
• Answers phones in a courteous, helpful, professional manner
• Communicates special events to members and guests,
• Facilitates all member requests or forwards to a manager.
• Maintains a professional and courteous disposition.
• Is an expert in all club facility, services, programs and schedules/hours of operation.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area,
• Able to navigate all stations of the front desk area, to including check-in, Relax & Recover, guest services, and membership sales.
• Performs opening and closing checklist and duties.

Bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. This hands-on role combines sales, member service, and daily cleaning to keep the club welcoming and ready for every workout.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members and guests, complete check-ins, and address account alerts in accordance with company procedures.
• Conduct personalized club tours, understand prospect goals, explain membership options, and confidently ask for the sale.
• Achieve assigned membership sales goals through prospect follow-up, referrals, community outreach, and promotional activities.
• Explain available club amenities and services, promote membership upgrades and retail products, and connect members with the appropriate team for personal training and other offerings.
• Process membership agreements, payments, and purchases accurately while following cash handling procedures.
• Record lead information and follow-up activity accurately in company systems.
• Answer calls professionally, respond to member questions, and resolve concerns within your authority or refer them to club leadership.
• Support member onboarding, engagement, and retention through helpful service and timely follow-up.
• Complete assigned daily cleaning and sanitizing duties, including front-desk, equipment, and other designated club areas.
• Follow assigned opening, closing, and shift checklists; report safety concerns, equipment issues, and maintenance needs promptly.
• Participate in training, role-playing, and coaching, and apply feedback to improve sales and service performance.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Sales or customer service experience preferred, ideally in fitness, retail, hospitality, or another service environment.
• Comfortable initiating conversations, following up with prospects, addressing objections, and working toward sales goals.
• Friendly, professional, and able to verbally communicate effectively with members, guests, and teammates.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn membership, sales, and payment systems.
• Dependable, attentive to detail, and able to balance member service, sales, and cleaning responsibilities.
• Availability to work the posted schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

CPR/AED certification required within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

Work involves prolonged standing and walking, talking, listening, computer use, bending, reaching, cleaning and sanitizing, and lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds. The club is an active fitness environment with varying noise levels.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the General Manager, with daily direction and support from the Assistant General Manager and designated club leadership.
