Job summary

Crossroads YMCA in Hobart, Indiana is seeking a Leader on Duty to supervise the branch and grounds, including parking areas, and respond to emergencies. You will model the organization’s values, greet members, and provide courteous service while promoting a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for all ages.

Under the Director’s guidance, you will lead staff, support member engagement and retention, coordinate safety procedures, and ensure daily operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of customer service and supervisory experience.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
• CPR/AED/First Aid/Oxygen certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist members, guests, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provide supervision and direction, especially in emergencies and conflicts.
• Promote a safe, friendly, and fun culture within the YMCA and branch.
• Execute member engagement and retention strategies to grow memberships.
• Monitor facility safety and ensure prompt service to program participants and volunteers.
• Respond to inquiries in a timely manner and escalate issues as needed.
