Job summary

Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) seeks a Member Advocate I to deliver outstanding customer service to members and employers across retirement benefits, plan provisions and related processes in a hybrid environment in Indianapolis, IN. After a 10-week onsite training, telemetry supports a rotating schedule with remote work feasibility.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and 1+ year customer service experience; or HS diploma/GED with 3+ years.
• Experience in financial services, insurance, group benefits or pension industry.
• Ability to resolve complex issues via phone, in person, email, and all media channels.
• Strong communication, empathy, and problem solving skills.
• Willingness to adapt to changing schedules and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and resolve issues with PERF, TRF, and other INPRS retirement processes.
• Welcomes and directs INPRS members and guests arriving for information and appointments.
• Interact professionally with INPRS members and staff; document interactions.
• Communicate and follow up on inquiries, providing necessary informational materials.
• Collaborate with management to identify and improve customer service processes.
