Unitus Community Credit Union is seeking a Member Advocate at the Gresham Branch to deliver exceptional service and help members with accounts, loans, and referrals. This full-time, non-exempt role emphasizes proactive sales, accuracy in transactions, and a strong commitment to security and fraud prevention while building trust with our members.

You will greet members in person, open new accounts, take loan applications, and collaborate with colleagues to resolve questions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year in a fast-paced customer service role, in-person or by phone.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; proficient with technology.
• Experience in a credit union or bank with cross-selling helpful.
• Able to be certified through NMLS and as Notary Public in OR/WA.
• Cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in-person to open accounts, apply for loans, refer to other services.
• Handle monetary and non-monetary transactions accurately and securely.
• Continuously learn about credit union products and internal systems.
• Collaborate with staff to research and resolve member questions or concerns.

Member Advocate - Gresham Branch

Full Time Regular Non-Exempt Gresham, Gresham, OR, US

Salary Range: $20.44 To $27.60 Hourly

Primary Duties

• Work with members in-person to leverage excellent consultation and sales skills to proactively assist new and existing members to open new accounts, apply for loans, and learn about and be referred to other lines of business
• Perform all types of monetary/non-monetary transactions using knowledge of fraud prevention, excellence in service, and accuracy in transactions processed
• Continuously develop knowledge of credit union products and services, as well as the internal computer systems used to manage member accounts
• Collaborate with other staff in branches or departments to research and resolve questions or concerns
• Exceed sales and service goals designed with a member focus

As an ideal candidate, you will have

• High School or equivalent certificate
• Must have a minimum of one year of work experience in a fast-paced customer service role that includes experience assisting customers in person or by telephone
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience in using technology to accomplish work
• Experience in a credit union or bank aiding with financial services products and using cross-selling skills is helpful
• Ability to be certified through NMLS and as a Notary Public in Oregon/Washington
• Experience with cash handling preferred
