Salary Range: $16.63 To $26.45 Hourly

GENERAL SUMMARY

Serve as a Member Advisor in the Credit Union branch setting. The primary responsibility is to provide excellent service by demonstrating the principals of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union and adhering to the vision of “Empowering People to Enhance Lives”. The Member Advisor is responsible for assisting members with their financial well-being through in-branch need-based sales. This includes uncovering and offering products and services that meet the immediate and future needs of our members and developing meaningful relationships through referrals and external outreach. Accountable to cross-sell Credit Union products and services related to daily transactions, new accounts and consumer loans and mortgage products. Friendly, professional and personal service toward all SouthPoint Financial Credit Union members is mandatory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Member Service & Relationship Management

  • Greeting and welcoming current and non-members into the branch, as well as our drive thru areas.
  • Build long-lasting relationships through trust, understanding, and personalized service.
  • Strive to improve the member experience through each interaction, to give back to our members and our communities and to help our members and team mates to be successful.
  • Advise on products and services to meet members’ needs that are offered by the Credit Union.
  • Initiate outbound calls to existing and potential members to enhance relationships and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Work with members on budgeting and financial goals to ensure financial success and seek opportunities to better the members’ experience by showing more efficient and effective ways to complete their banking needs.
  • Adhere to and uphold the Credit Union’s core vision and mission in supporting the organization’s efforts in promoting a culture of doing the right things, for the right reasons.

Account Servicing & Transactions

  • Perform account servicing functions including but not limited to cash and check deposits, cash withdrawals, balance inquiries, internal and external transfers, member-to-member transfers, account closures, cashier’s check creation, stop payments, loan payments, loan payoffs, fee reversals and wire requests.
  • Complete account maintenance activities such as debit card creation, debit card activity review, funds hold status reviews, pending ACH activity inquiries, e‑statement removals, and next‑day fee reversals.

Lending & Application Support

  • Initiate consumer, Ready Reserve, and real estate loan applications through digital platforms.
  • Prepare loan payoff statements for members.

Account Opening & Business Services

  • Initiate and process in-person account applications for consumer, business and specialty accounts.
  • Support business account services, including Health Savings Accounts (HSA), contributions, distributions, transfers, and related research.

Documentation, Research & Compliance

  • Perform account, statement, notice, historical document, and check image research using multiple internal systems.
  • Resolve member issues, questions and complaints. Research, investigate, and document member problems or complaints and/or direct these matters through proper channels to ensure follow‑up to achieve member satisfaction.
  • Abide by all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) responsibilities applicable to this role.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Act as a team player with maturity, confidentiality and adaptability, including willing to adapt to changing job requirements/hours.

  • Perform clerical support duties as necessary.
  • Assist with various marketing activities.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required, associate’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in a credit union, banking, lending or retail office—or related work experience—preferred.
  • Professional and effective communication skills.
  • Effective time management and critical thinking skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills (able to utilize multiple systems simultaneously)
  • Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
