Job Description
Summary

Plan and organize shift operations in VIM/VAR/ESR/Refractory Departments, ensuring safe and economical operations. Lead and direct personnel in Melt Shop Operations and provide necessary training.

This is a 2nd shift role; 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm

Essential Functions
  1. Communicate company goals, objectives, and priorities to all personnel.
  2. Train and develop staff.
  3. Enforce company rules and safety regulations.
  4. Participate actively in safety initiatives and investigations.
  5. Coordinate interdepartmental cooperation.
  6. Oversee basic shift operations, ensuring procedures and schedules are followed.
  7. Assist in operational functions and manpower allocation.
  8. Ensure safety and proper processing of melts according to specifications.
  9. Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate with superintendents for major decisions.
  10. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the plant.
  11. Manage melt sheet accuracy, spectro results, and corrective actions.
  12. Relay information between shifts and ensure policy compliance.
  13. Coordinate material flow with other departments.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
