Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Mill Experience.
  • Ability to read roll and guide drawings as necessary.
  • Experience with data entry in SAP/QMOS.

What You'll Do
  • Work to ensure all steel is manufactured to CMC specifications and safely in a timely manner
  • Visually inspect furnace for problems (water leaks, refractory wear, etc.)
  • Ensure slag foaming is appropriate
  • Adjust flux additions based on slag analysis to optimize slag chemistry
  • Work with personnel in the operation, monitoring, and performance of all melt shop equipment (caster, furnace, cranes, ladle furnace, etc.)
  • Communicate with fellow workers and supervisors about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
  • Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others (pulpit operator, process manager, maintenance personnel, etc.)
  • Control and replenish the inventory of consumables needed on the operations floor
  • Assist maintenance personnel when requested/needed
  • Fill in or assist the supervisor in performing duties when requested and needed
What You'll Need
  • Minimum 5 years of Mill Experience
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read roll and guide drawings as necessary
  • Work which may include weekends and holidays
  • Data entry in SAP / QMOS
  • Ability to work with a budget for lowering cost (SAP)
  • Must be able to schedule work through work orders and/or delegation
  • Ability to work in extreme heat
Your Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
