Job summary

ASC Engineered Solutions, LLC in Columbia, PA is seeking a D Crew Melt Crew to safely manage molten metal operations and support daily furnace activity. This position is onsite in the Columbia plant and reports to the onsite supervisor.

You will handle molten metal at temperatures above 2800 degrees, maintain ladles and furnace components, prepare pouring ladles, and follow safety procedures with a strong emphasis on teamwork and precision. Weekend/overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
• Must be able to discern imperfections, understand quality of repairs of iron holders / ladles.
• Must be able to understand basic addition to tally units per training.
• Must be able to learn job duties and locations from verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Interact with liquid metal at temperatures exceeding 2800 degrees.
• Maintain holders / ladles and perform furnace repairs including daily patches and relining refractory.
• Prepare pouring ladles for daily use and pour metal into ladles.
• Take direction from supervisor, monitor temperatures and molten iron safety, assist with furnace/ladle cleaning and maintenance.
• Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
