Job summary

Reliable Safety & Flow Corporation in Columbia, PA is seeking a Melt Controller to operate and maintain furnaces, manage molten metal chemistry, and prepare ladles for pouring. The role requires precise temperature control and adherence to quality specifications throughout the melting process.

You will ensure accurate recording of pouring temperatures, perform routine furnace maintenance, and follow supervisor directions to maintain safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in furnace operation and maintenance.
• Ability to adjust metal chemistry to specification.
• Experience with temperature control and pouring preparation.

Responsibilities

• Convert raw materials into liquid metal at temperatures above 2800 degrees, ensure metal quality.
• Control and adjust metal chemistry to spec.
• Maintain furnace, patches, relining refractory.
• Record pouring temperatures.
• Prepare pouring ladles and pour metal into ladles.
• Take direction from supervisor and assist with furnace/ladle maintenance.
• Perform duties safely and responsibly.

Description

Reliable Safety & Flow Corporation is seeking a
Melt Controller. The Melt Controller plays a critical role in the metal casting process by safely converting raw materials into high-quality molten metal while maintaining precise temperature and chemical specifications. This position is responsible for furnace operation and maintenance, metal chemistry adjustments, pouring preparation, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the melting process.

Key Responsibilities

• The melt controller is responsible for converting raw materials into liquid metal at temperatures exceeding (2800) degrees; responsible for the quality of the metal including chemical and temperatures control.
• The Controller controls the chemistry of the metals. If not correct they need to adjust chemistry into spec
• Responsible for maintaining the furnace including daily patches and repairs and relining the refractory.
• Responsible for maintaining recording pouring temperatures.
• Preparing the pouring ladles for daily use; pouring metal into ladles.
• Ability to take direction from supervisor; understanding temperatures controls; assisting with the cleaning/maintaining furnaces ladles.
• Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner
