Job summary

Peco Foods is seeking a shift-based quality/line operator to monitor the DSI machine, ensure packaging and labeling specs, and uphold GMP hygiene. The role requires inspecting products for defects and reporting anomalies promptly to supervision.

You will stand for the full shift in a cold production environment, handle filets up to a certain weight, and comply with all plant policies while maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Operate and adjust the DSI machine during shift.
• Ensure length, width, and thickness requirements are maintained.
• Follow packaging and labeling specifications and maintain GMP hygiene.
• Inspect products for natural or processing defects and report anomalies.
• Identify suspicious or abnormal situations and report to supervision.

• Physically inspect products for both natural occurring and processing defects.
• Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.

  • Natural occurring defects would be not limited to: deformity, bruising in excess, infection, discoloration, abscess.
  
  
  • Processing defects would be but not limited to: FM, bones, extraneous material (to include fecal matter), feathers, broken/mis-cut, missed heads, torn, fat levels, etc.
  
  
  
  


• Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.

Abnormal situations would be:

• Product tampering


• Willful product adulteration


• Unauthorized employees in restricted areas


• Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring


• Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake

Physical Demands:

• Standing 100% of the workday.


• Handle filets up to 10 pounds in weight.


• Cold work environment; Approximately 45 degrees Fahrenheit
