JOB TITLE: MEGA-DC Gymnastics Recreational Coach

MEGA-DC is seeking a reliable, mature, and engaging Recreational Gymnastics Coach to teach our recreational classes, follow established protocols, learn and deliver our curriculum, and maintain required certifications. The coach will create a safe, positive learning environment that promotes skill development, teamwork, and a love of gymnastics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach recreational gymnastics classes according to MEGA-DC curriculum and lesson plans.
• Arrive on time and be prepared for every scheduled class.
• Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and coaching protocols.
• Provide clear, age-appropriate instruction and demonstrations.
• Supervise participants at all times and maintain a safe training environment.
• Engage students with positive coaching, motivation, and constructive feedback.
• Track student progress and communicate updates to parents and program director as required.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and curriculum review workshops.
• Complete and maintain all required certifications and annual renewals.
• Assist with class setup, equipment care, and facility cleanliness when needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Experience coaching children in recreational gymnastics or a related youth sport.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to engage and manage groups of varying ages and abilities.
• Mature, responsible, punctual, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to learn and consistently apply MEGA-DC curriculum and protocols.
• Basic first aid/CPR knowledge (or willingness to obtain immediately).
• Background check (18+) and any required youth-safety clearances.
• Required certifications (obtain or hold) CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Any state or local mandated child-safety or background clearance.
• MEGA-DC coaching certifications (complete training program and assessments within the timeframe specified by MEGA-DC).
• Additional gymnastics coaching certifications as required by the club (will be provided or scheduled as part of onboarding if not already held).

• Past experience with recreational lesson planning and progress reporting.
• Formal coaching certifications from recognized gymnastics organizations.
• Experience with basic tumbling, bars, beam, and vault instruction.
