Teacher Meeker Elementary First Grade Teacher

Meeker Elementary School is seeking highly qualified First Grade Teachers, with the ability to teach any grade level K-5. The District prefers candidates with strong knowledge and understanding of standards-based education, and a willingness to work or successful experience in a collaborative culture dedicated to data-driven instruction, differentiation, and student learning.

Meeker School District has approximately 720 students in grades Pre-K through Twelve, with about 340 students in Pre-K to 5th at the Elementary School. We seek individuals who understand the intellectual, social, and emotional needs of elementary students. Professional involvement beyond the local level and successful teaching experience are desirable. The Meeker Re-1 School District is committed to “Excellence in all we do”.

Date Available: Position begins August 1, 2025

Positions: Grade level will be determined based on the applicant's experience and qualifications.

Job Functions/Qualifications:

  • Models ethical standards, continual growth, collaborative work, and care and concern for students, materials, and facilities.
  • Demonstrates effective classroom management strategies.
  • Uses state and district standards to design standards-based assessments, planning, and instruction.
  • Demonstrates effective and appropriate communication skills.
  • Must be appropriately certified and/or licensed as a teacher in Colorado by law.
  • Qualified for the specific area or grade level, meeting Colorado Department of Education standards.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and instructional models.

  • The district is willing to consider candidates for an Alternative Licensure Program.

The alternative teacher pathway allows candidates with a content degree from an accredited institution to teach while completing teacher training based on Colorado standards. Programs vary from 1 to 2 years, with potential for a third year for special education generalists. Interested candidates should contact the district.
