Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Staff Engineer, R&D in Irving, Texas, with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote). You will lead design and development of breast implants and related devices, applying core GMP and design control principles to deliver innovative MedTech solutions.

Responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines and budgets, and engaging with surgeons and regulatory colleagues to ensure successful design transfer and commercialization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of proven work experience in medical devices or similar regulated fields.
• Solid understanding of Design Control (e.g., CFR 820.30) and GMP fundamentals.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams in R&D environments.

Responsibilities

• Leads project and/or technical teams in design, development and manufacturing of breast implants and related processes.
• Applies engineering principles to support a broad range of R&D functions and milestone delivery.
• Manages project timelines, budget adherence, and regulatory compliance with timely updates.
• Interacts with surgeons, commercial teams, and marketing to identify unmet needs and viability.
• Collaborates with supply chain and suppliers to advance development through design transfer to commercialization.
• Interfaces with regulatory colleagues for submissions and audits as a technical SME.
• Ensures compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and company policies.
