Responsibilities

• Administer medications directly to residents as prescribed by physician and record deliveries on logs.
• Secure medications per policies and label bedside orders properly.
• Document medications administered on MARs and monitor PRN meds.
• Follow procedures for destruction of discontinued medications.
• Report changes in residents' condition promptly to leadership.
• Provide bathing assistance and daily living support.
• Assist with dressing, grooming, oral care, and hygiene.
• Assist with toileting, perineum care, and incontinence support.
• Assist with mobility and transfers per protocols.
• Monitor residents at risk and document observations via approved tools.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication with the Director of Resident Services.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANT (CAREGIVER) - SUNSHINE ASSISTED LIVING

Being adaptable and responsive to changing situations is important for addressing residents' varying needs promptly.

Basic knowledge of caregiving practices and techniques is advantageous, and a willingness to learn and adhere to company policies and procedures is necessary for success in this role.

• Administer medications directly to residents in manner prescribed by resident's physician and DSD.


• Document deliveries of medications, from all sources, on centrally stored medications logs.


• Secure all medications per facility policies, including medications or treatments discovered in resident rooms without \"bedside orders\". Insure bedside ordered medications are properly labeled.


• Document medications administered to residents on the resident's MAR's. Records results of PRN meds.


• Follow procedures for destruction of discontinued medications. Complete destructions in a timely manner.


• Follow up on inaccurate, missing, or incomplete physician's orders. Keep accurate record of follow ups.


• Provides bathing assistance according to the posted resident shower schedule.


• Provides assistance with daily dressing, grooming and oral care to assigned residents.


• Provides assistance with scheduled resident toileting, perineum care, hygiene, skin care, and support for episodic incontinence as the need arises.


• Provides assistance with resident mobility and transfers according to approved assistance protocols.


• Provides close monitoring of assigned residents with at risk behaviors (i.e. fall risk, aggression, etc.)


• Promptly reports any observed changes in resident's physical condition and/or behaviors to Director of Resident Services through approved documentation forms and electronic reporting tools.
